A future Maison des associations in Grand Case

0

Transform the old Elie Gibs school in Grand Case into a House of associations. A decision that the community claims to have made before the passage of Irma. And for good reason, several associations were already using the building, in particular the Gunslingers (steelpan), and the members of the district council. The territorial police also occupied a space there.

The cyclone was responsible for destroying part of the buildings and the wall. It remains to finish demolishing and clearing it before renovating the historic building and rebuilding its outbuildings. The objective of the architect Didier Rouault, prime contractor, is not only to provide space for associations, but also to enhance the main building and its historic vocation. The project, for which contracts are expected to be awarded in early 2019, is expected to cost 2,5 million euros. The COM will participate up to 20% (i.e. 500 euros) while the remaining 000 million will be financed by the exceptional investment fund of the French overseas ministry.
