This is a first in history. Sint-Marteenois Shemar Deion Bute transferred to a Division 1 university. Graduated from Tallahassee Community College (TCC) he will enter Connecticut Central State University (CCSU) in the fall of 2017. He currently plays as a center but will be at the CCSU. Bute graduated from St. Maarten Academy and was voted Athlete of the Year. During a meeting with the Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport of Sint Maarten, Bute spoke about his professional aspirations and his educational and sports career. Minister Jacobs expressed her enthusiasm for Bute and assured him that the ministry would support him in any way possible.
