Last Sunday, at 11:30 am, Canadian tourists sailing on a sailboat off the "Baie aux Prunes" in Saint-Martin report the presence of a body floating on the water. The nautical brigade is engaged and embarks on a SNSM ship to go to the scene.
A first body examination has been carried out and the criminal track is clearly envisaged. In fact, the victim was found bound hand and foot. An autopsy will be performed in the coming days to determine the causes of death.
The victim was identified as being from the West Indies and living in Sint-Maarten. The Dutch authorities have been informed and a procedure has been opened to determine the circumstances of the disappearance and death of this 43-year-old man.
The French authorities have also opened an investigation which has been entrusted to the antenna of the Saint-Martin research section. _AF
