The Minister of Overseas Territories has launched a call for projects in order to strengthen the fight against discrimination and violence against women in the overseas territories.
According to INSEE, in Overseas Territories, domestic violence (IVF) measured from the filing of complaints is more widespread than in France. In 2020, 7 women were still victims of VIF in all the DROM-COM (against 652 in 7263), i.e. a victimization rate of 2019 against 5,4 in metropolitan France (3,1 times higher) .
Faced with the seriousness and the scale of the phenomenon of violence within the couple, the primary prevention and the repetition of any act of violence constitutes an essential stake of the legal public policies, social and health.
The aim of this call for projects is to support actions with a territorial scope with regard to the priorities that have been defined in coordination with the Department of Women's Rights and Equality (SDFE) and the pilots of the Grenelle working groups against domestic violence which took place for the first time in 2019. The total envelope for the call for projects amounts to € 140 for all overseas territories.
Support will be given to projects aimed at the following actions:
• Support access to rights centers to fight against the precariousness of women victims of violence, especially isolated women.
• Fight against domestic violence (listening places, orientation, daycare and observatories)
• Promote social autonomy, professional integration and entrepreneurship of women
• Provide financial support for communication campaigns in local languages
In overseas territories, the call for projects is aimed at associations, local authorities, public or private establishments and various players.
Applications should be sent to the local prefecture by email and in copy to the General Directorate of Overseas Territories at: bcsse@outre-mer.gouv.fr
