THEATER: Launch of the new theatrical season

0

If the return to school is slowly taking place for everyone, the Company of the Stateless has not been idle during the holidays. She returns to the stage on Friday January 14 with the first play of 2022: "Beyond the Infinite".

If this show has ever had a life on the Dutch side of the island for being presented and directed by Ukrainian-born director Albina Matuzko in English version under the title "Behind the Beyond", this time it is the adaptation in French signed by the same director which will be produced at the Théâtre de la Chapelle. Work written by Canadian comedian Stephen Leacock in 1913, “Beyond the Infinite” will plunge viewers into a world of false comedy tinged with absurdity and poetry, at the heart of the Roaring Twenties. This theatrical proposal in three acts which takes place in London in 1910 addresses themes whose relevance remains to this day: love, betrayal and hidden intentions. A piece with several drawers, “Beyond the Infinite” gives pride of place to period costumes and the symbolism of the place, thus promising a journey through time and a full-fledged experience for the public. The actors of the Apatrides troupe will perform colorful characters to bring to life a show that can already be described as burlesque, between half-clown and half-boulevard. Kamel Fenzi, Laurence Dromard, Raphaël Dorra, Tancrède Demont, Cor Sikkes, Stéphanie Carré, Martine Boudine and Cathy Carasso therefore join Albina Matuzko to take up the challenge of making the Chapel theater room laugh and dream. Performances on Fridays January 14 and 21 at 19:30 p.m., and on Satedis January 15 and 22 always at 19:30 p.m. _VX
