Tattoo: Saint-Martin's participation in the 2nd Caribbean Tatoo Convention fair

In July, the 2nd edition of the Caribbean Tatoo Convention took place in Guadeloupe. For a weekend, Guadeloupe was the epicenter of the international tattoo elite. A meeting in which two representatives from the North Islands participated, Mike Lopez from Saint-Barthélemy and Victor Alvarez from Saint-Martin, head of the Victor Tatoo studio located in Grand-Case.

For Victor this show was a huge success and his stand, which he shared with his friend Eric Thifault and his apprentice Morgan Niodo, had good attendance and the quality of their work was recognized, since Eric Thifault received two prizes, that of the Best of Show which rewards the best tattoo over the three days of the show and that of the Black & Gray which is the most beautiful black and white tattoo done, also, over the whole of the three days.

About forty tattoo artists from Martinique, Guadeloupe, Polynesia, France, Canada, Saint-Domingue, Guyana, or even Trinidad had made the trip. Some of these were known during the 1st edition which facilitated exchanges and the sharing of knowledge on techniques as well as on equipment which evolves very quickly, "leaving behind tattoo machines which restrained inspiration and which thus open up new possibilities. new horizons for creation (…) Evolution has been fantastic and fascinating in recent years ”, assures Victor. The public had come in large numbers to this second edition, and a great enthusiasm was felt during these three days when the machines purred to meet the demand of visitors. _RM
