The Minister of Tourism and Economic Affairs of Sint Maarten, Mellissa Arrindell-Doncher, congratulated the “super culinary team” of the island who recently took part in the Taste of the Caribbean competition in Miami, Florida. Organized each year by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA), the competition was once again successful for participants from Saint-Martin who returned with a palette of nine medals in gold, silver and bronze. Among the awards, money in the category “Caribbean national team of the year” and for the chef of the year Dino Jagtiani; bronze for Justin Assendelft and his seafood creations, gold for Suzirea “Suzzy” Adoptie with his beef dish and for Paul Peterson, barman of the year. _EH
