SXM FESTIVAL /// Day 5: recap

0

The last day of the 2022 edition of the SXM Festival took place at Karakter, on the Dutch side. In the evening, Happy Bay was once again filled with festival-goers still as thirsty for electronic music as on the first day of the launch.

For the more adventurous decided to have an all-nighter from Saturday to Sunday, Bôho Beach opened the amps in the early morning with catori which had no trouble keeping viewers awake. The artists who followed her, such as Behrouz or even Baloo, Anmarz et Carlo who, after their respective individual sets, joined in a trio to close this scene at the end of the day, captivated the audience throughout this Sunday day. On the other side of the border, at the Karakter, the crowd was impressive. The places were somewhat emptied at the beginning of the evening in view of the programming which started at 19 p.m. on the Happy Bay site. Programming that lived up to this last night putting electro, techno and house music in the spotlight. Black with people, the pit in front of the Arc Stage has never been emptied. Amine K. did not hesitate for a second to integrate his Moroccan origins into his musical set, mixing musical styles with emotion and fervor. The play of light accompanying the sounds from elsewhere once again greatly contributed to the sound and auditory experience of which the SXM Festival has the secret. Succeeded him on this same emblematic stage, the legendary Danny Tenaglia. The DJ and producer who has signed remixes for international artists such as Depeche Mode, Madonna, Blondie, Janet Jackson and even Faithless, has been welcomed as the king of the turntables that he continues to be. Watching him mix is an experience in its own right. Even after decades of entertaining crowds, the artist will always be the first to dance to the sounds he releases with sincere excitement and obvious enthusiasm. The passing of turntables between him and Dubfire who was programmed after him and who considers the first as a mentor was touching, a great moment between renowned artists in front of an enchanted audience. Ali “Dubfire” Shirazinia is an accomplished and multi-faceted artist, if there was to be an ideal music to close the chapter of the 2022 edition of the SXM Festival, it had to be his. The festival-goers, who numbered 5000 over the entire festival, left sated and in a trance, happy and fulfilled by the sets of electronic music, all worthy of the greatest of this genre. And as Julian Prince, organizer of the festival, so aptly put it: “We did it. And we're gonna do it again! ". Can not wait for next year. _VX
