On Tuesday, November 26, customs officials from Sint Maarten seized 4kg of cocaine at Princess Juliana International Airport.
Two women from Trinidad were arrested when the security services detected an anomaly in their luggage while they were scanning. After cutting the lining of their suitcase, customs officials discovered 37 packages of cocaine for a total weight of 4 kg. They are currently in detention, and due to the ongoing investigation, customs officials cannot provide any other information.
In another case, customs officials assigned to border control recovered, in collaboration with the cruise security service at the port of Sint Maarten, several grams of narcotics, without the exact quantity being specified. The passengers involved were interrogated and fined by the prosecutor, after which they were allowed to leave the territory. _RM
