The frigate "Ventôse", of the national navy, carried out two interceptions last November for a total of 300 kg of drugs. The facts were known in a press release issued by the prefecture of Martinique.

As part of an operation under the guidance of State Action at Sea, the "Ventôse" was engaged, on the night of Friday, November 15, to try to intercept a skiff that was on the high seas, and a Go Fast type boat, with a suspect cargo on board. The frigate's rapid response boat was launched and the crew was able to recover the bundles that had been thrown into the sea.

Twenty-four hours later, the crew of the “Ventôse” spotted another Go Fast type vessel a few dozen nautical miles from their position. The frigate followed this track and, arriving at the height of the suspicious boat, decided to intervene. The visiting team recovered several bundles of narcotics that had been thrown into the sea.

A total of 12 bundles of drugs were seized. The crews, fast boats and bales of drugs have been handed over to the OCRTIS (Central Office for the Suppression of the Illicit Drug Trafficking) which will continue the investigations to dismantle the criminal organizations involved. _RM
