Amazing! Legalization of marijuana in Trinidad and Tobago

0

Trinidad and Tobago President Paula Mae Weekes proclaimed a decriminalization law on dangerous drugs on December 23. An early Christmas present for marijuana users, who take advantage of this law passed by both houses of Parliament in early December.

But this decriminalization is only valid for small quantities, between 30 and 60 grams of cannabis. People will be allowed to have up to 30 grams, without penalty, and to smoke in private accommodation, but not in public or commercial buildings. Up to the 60 gram limit, an individual will be assessed a fixed penalty, and once paid, will no longer have a criminal record. In addition, everyone will be allowed to grow four marijuana plants.

Provision has been made for those incarcerated, for small quantities of drugs, to be eligible for release and will therefore be able to have their criminal record struck off._RM
