SINT MAARTEN: A quarter of Covid-19 cases were recorded in December

The month of December recorded a record of contamination in part Dutch with 387 new cases of covid-19 confirmed by the authorities of Sint Maarten, or 39 additional cases compared to August, a period which had peaked with 348 cases.

Just over a quarter of all cases were confirmed last month. As of December 31, 1 people have been infected with the virus.

According to health bulletins, 2 people were tested in December, a total of 656 since March, representing a quarter of the population of Sint Maarten. Not to mention the 10 tests performed on passengers who arrived at Juliana airport who did not have the correct test.

As of January 4, the number of people declared cured is 1 and the number of active cases is 370. The number of deaths is 68.

On the French side, the regional health agency has not yet published its weekly bulletin dated December 27. According to Public Health France, the number of cumulative cases in the French part is 1. (soualigapost.com)
