Sint Maarten (News story): Man arrested for forging the signature of the Dutch police chief

The Sint Maarten police force, the KPSM, arrested a man on Thursday noon for forging the signature of police chief Carl John on a travel exemption.

Police asked P. to report to Philipsburg Police Station because he was suspected of having recently forged Chief Karl John's signature on a travel waiver.

Police say P. confessed to the forgery and said he did so because his travel waiver request was not processed quickly enough by authorities. Police are currently facing delays in issuing travel waivers due to the high volume of requests.

A hefty fine!

After the police took P.'s statement, he was fined and released.
