Sint Maarten / Final notice for person(s) to recover all confiscated vehicles (cars and scooters)

0

As the peak of hurricane season approaches, a cleanup is underway at the various police impounds where seized vehicles are kept. The Sint Maarten Police Force (KPSM) is issuing this final notice to anyone whose vehicle has been confiscated by the KPSM, to report to the police station to pick it up with the proper documents.

This is a last chance for owners to recover their confiscated vehicles from the Philipsburg police station. Vehicles confiscated due to a violation of the law, such as lack of insurance or a technical problem, cannot be recovered by the police.

Vehicles confiscated as part of ongoing investigations cannot be recovered at this time. The prosecutor's office is the only authority empowered to return a confiscated motor vehicle in the course of an investigation.

If your vehicle or motorcycle is at the police station, you can retrieve it by presenting the following documents: a valid identity document (driver's license, identity card or passport) and proof that you are the rightful owner . You will also need to provide proof of insurance and control.
Vehicles and motorcycles not recovered will be crushed in consultation and with the agreement of the prosecutor's office.
