As part of the preparation for a possible passage of a hurricane phenomenon in Saint-Martin, the services of the State and the Community continue their mobilization.
Last Thursday, Mr. Prefect Vincent BERTON and Mrs. Vice-President Bernadette DAVIS went to land in the public domain of the Collectivity, located close to Grand-Case airport. Many heaps of debris and bulky items were observed on the spot and represent a real danger for the safety of the inhabitants as well as for the integrity of the airstrip, compromising in particular the arrival of relief and supplies following the passage of a cyclone. The cleaning operation in progress will continue in cooperation with all professionals in the sector and the authorities. The prefecture recalls that everyone's involvement is essential as we enter the peak of the hurricane season.
