A Dutch McDonnell Douglas DC-10 military aircraft departed from Eindhoven Air Base in the Netherlands on Monday for Sint Maarten with military and law enforcement personnel, as well as goods to aid several Caribbean islands during the Covid-19 coronavirus crisis.

About XNUMX Royal Dutch Marechaussee KMar officers and an undisclosed number of Royal Dutch Marines disembarked at Juliana Airport. These reinforcements have arrived to augment the local law enforcement staff, many of whom have been working weeks without a day of rest.

According to the Dutch Ministry of Defense, before reinforcements are deployed on active duty, they will go into quarantine and will be closely monitored by local health authorities.

All arriving personnel have been tested in the Netherlands and their results have been negative, said the Dutch Ministry of Defense.
