Brazilian meat scandal: Sint Maarten temporarily bans the import of meat from the Brazilian companies involved

The government of Sint Maarten informs in a press release dated March 27 that wholesalers and resellers (convenience stores and supermarkets), and any food establishment that imported meat and meat products from one of the Brazilian companies suspected since last week of having exported spoiled meat, must withdraw these products from sale immediately. The inspection also temporarily and immediately prohibited all imports from Brazilian companies suspected in the scandal of "spoiled meat". All future imports of meat or meat products must be accompanied by a health certificate issued by the official government authority. Any cargo of meat or meat products originating in Brazil that is not accompanied by this certificate will be confiscated and destroyed.
