GRIMP rescuers: Six agents received six out of six!

0

The six agents have obtained the qualification of GRIMP SAVERS and are now part of GRIMP 971

All of them are now authorized to carry out reconnaissance in pairs, install equipment ropes… and participate in the rescue operation but under the supervision of a unit leader. Indeed, the implementation of any rescue device for the mobilization of a victim requires the presence of a unit leader (who for the moment will come from Guadeloupe by helicopter) ... From now on, the helicopter will move with only a head of unit and not as in the past with a head of unit and one or two pairs).

NB: a unit is made up of a leader and two pairs ... The training took place at the Saint-Martin rescue center and on various sites on the island, notably the cliffs of Trou de David, lowlands and on the maneuvering tower of the center and in the park of hooking branches… In addition, on Wednesday May 17th, they had to implement the techniques taught because they intervened in Oyster-Pond for an evacuation by outside of 'a victim, the stairs of the house being too cramped for the passage of the stretcher ...

In the medium term, the center chief and the group commander, with the approval of the COM, envisage the formation and / or the presence of a head of unit on the island, this in order to allow the composition of an autonomous unit on Saint-Martin! _AF
