The 2017 national competition of the National Dance Confederation ended a few days ago in Châlons-en-Champagne. Nearly 4000 participants of all ages, including a delegation from Saint-Martin, took part in this event which celebrated its 30th birthday. All styles of dance were represented, from classical to contemporary through hip-hop. The dancers of the National Institute of Arts (NIA) returned with several awards: Lian Borsje received a gold medal, Zoe van Zadelhoff a silver medal, and the duets Naomi Warsop / Jeremiah David and Zaquel Phipps / Ray Angel Simon also won the silver. As for the team composed of Faith Peterson, Kiara Vanterpool, Ray Angel Simon and Naomi Warsop, they collected the money. _EH
