The number of contaminations is down sharply in the Dutch part since the authorities of the Dutch part confirmed 101 new cases of covid-19 last week against 172 and 181 the two weeks before. As of Friday, the total number of cumulative cases stood at 4070, to 4091 on Saturday. The number of active cases was 175 on Saturday.
The deaths of two residents were mourned last week; a total of 59 people have died since the start of the pandemic.
Regarding vaccination, nearly 43 doses were administered. 330 people have a complete vaccination schedule and 23 have received a first dose. The ambition of the government of Sint Maarten is to vaccinate 540 people, to date 25% of this objective has been achieved.
