The President of the COIM, Daniel Gibbs went to the Galisbay vaccinodrome on Friday, May 7, to receive the first dose of the vaccine (Pfizer) against the Covid-19 virus. The prefect Serge Gouteyron, having himself already received his vaccine, insisted on being present alongside the President. An opportunity to jointly greet the Red Cross teams who run the system.

The challenge today is to ensure that the population is protected and that the territory can reopen to tourism and gradually resume normal social and economic life.

Son of a doctor, President Gibbs indicated that his whole family had already received the vaccine and that he too wanted to be vaccinated to set an example and help protect the population:

“You have to trust medicine. It is a question of protecting oneself, of protecting others and also of doing everything so that our tourist island can regain normal functioning. I therefore invite the entire population to take this solidarity-based approach to vaccination, ”he said.

The Vaccinodrome opened its doors on Monday 3 May on the Galisbay site (Carnival village), it welcomes the public (over 18 years old), from 8 a.m. to 16 p.m., Monday to Saturday.

All you have to do is show up without an appointment, with your vital card or proof of address and identity document. The vaccine is covered 100% by health insurance.

The Red Cross teams are fully mobilized to welcome you while respecting gestures of protection.
