0

The hurricane season started on June 1 and ends on November 30. The occasion for the prefect Sylvie Feucher and the 2nd vice-president Yawo Nyuiadzi, to recall, at the time of a joint press conference, the work carried out by the services of the State and the services of the Community to continue improving the existing systems and integrate the consequences of IRMA.

Together, let's clean up the territory!

Individuals, associations, hoteliers, syndicates of co-ownerships and professionals are invited to pick up their bulky items and clean up the surroundings of their premises, construction sites and homes. Citizenship and the sense of responsibility of all those involved in the implementation of this cleanup are called upon. Any object not picked up becomes a projectile in the event of a cyclonic episode. The safety of all of us is at stake.

The Collectivity will contribute to this action within the framework of a new cleaning campaign in the districts, in June, by installing dumpsters to allow the inhabitants to evacuate their bulky items.

The Collectivity would like to remind you that it is possible to have an end-of-life vehicle removed from private property free of charge by first contacting the environment department located in the premises of the former hospital with the vehicle registration document. . Contact 0590 52 27 30 or 0690 88 69 29. The ravines will be cleaned during July and August.

Individuals and businesses who will join this effort are asked to sort green waste, sheets and pieces of wood, before transporting them to the Grandes Cayes ecosite. This pre-sorting is important because it will then facilitate the treatment of waste.

Prepare yourself, protect yourself!

Individuals are invited to prepare their habitat, clean their property and make the necessary reservations. Each citizen must have their own emergency plan and have their emergency kit. Anticipation, from the start of the season, is the best option.

All information relating to the hurricane season is published on the Community website: www.com-saint-martin.fr Section "Major Risks" (updated on June 03, 2019). Get informed!
