0

Our editorial team has decided to present you portraits of young people who, thanks to their courage and determination, have been able to study and achieve their goals.

We begin this first section "Successes" with Luigi Freedom born in 1987 in Saint Martin.

Luigi tell us about your educational background (primary, secondary, after baccalaureate…, diploma, mentions…)

My school career was carried out between Saint-Martin (until Brevet), different cities of the metropolis (Baccalaureate in the countryside of Le Mans, License at the foot of the mountains in Grenoble, Master 2 in Internal Audit under the sun of Aix- en-Provence) and a little internationally with a school exchange in the Thai capital.

• You continued your studies until what age?

I finalized my school curriculum at the age of 22 when I obtained my Master 2.

•  When you were young, did you already know you would go this far?

I do not know if we can qualify my current situation to have "gone far" but I already had the objective of working in the Financial sector when I was younger so we will say that I am in line with my aspirations professional initials.

• How did you find the motivation to continue when others stop along the way?

I have always been driven by challenges so ultimately the motivation to continue was natural.

• Where do you work now, in what field and since when?

Today, I work in Paris in an international consulting firm. I support the big names (and also the small ones) in the financial sector (Banking, Insurance and Asset Management) on their risk management strategy (operational, regulatory, etc.).

In addition to this work, I launched in 2019 (with an associate) “Studio La Paloma” which is a Parisian creative workshop focused on fashion today and tomorrow around other activities such as photography or even fashion. 'event.

• What does Saint-Martin represent to you and do you come back often?

Saint-Martin is in my DNA and it is an important place for me in which I come to recharge my batteries as soon as I have the opportunity. I go back there often and especially since the beginning of the health crisis (like what the crisis can have good).

• Do you still have contact with your childhood friends?

Yes always, they play an essential role in my life balance.

Do you follow the news of your heart island?

Not always easy, but I do my best.

• What advice would you give to a young person who is just starting out in life today?

Be ambitious and not set limits "the sky is the limit" and show character and resilience.

• Your final word: Growing up in Saint-Martin in a unique environment due to its cultural diversity is a source of immense pride and a solid asset on which it is necessary to rely in order to achieve its ambitions.
