Return of compelling reasons for travel from and to all overseas territories (St-Martin and St-Barth including)

0

"All travel to and from all of our overseas territories will henceforth be subject to the production of compelling reasons", announced Jean Castex last Friday during the National Defense and Security Council.

Thus, it will be impossible to come to Saint-Martin or to go to Metropolitan France except for imperative reasons of a personal or family nature, health reason relating to emergency or professional reason that cannot be postponed.

Several overseas territories had already restored the compelling reasons, such as, recently, Mayotte, Guadeloupe, Martinique or even Reunion. Only Polynesia, Saint-Pierre and Miquelon and New Caledonia still allowed travel with France. It's been over since Sunday.

Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy are not exempt from these new restrictive measures. A big blow, one more for tourist activity in the Northern Islands!

Note that the overriding reasons are also established for travel between France and countries outside the European Union. For trips to France from European Union countries, the provision of a PCR test will now be compulsory.  _AF
