The number of tourists on the island has been increasing since October 2017 according to figures from the government of Sint Maarten based on arrivals at Juliana airport. In eight months, attendance increased by 83%.
In the first half of the year, the number of tourists received was 74, which is roughly a quarter of attendance over the same period in 474. Today, Europe represents 2017% of arrivals on the island (45 ), North America 33%. On the other hand, this last market shows the biggest drop: - 537% compared to last year over the same period.
If the number of Europeans arriving in Juliana is almost stable with an average of 5-400 people per month between January and June, the number of Americans, meanwhile, increases each month from 5 in January to more than 600 4 in June.
