Meeting between Lydia Lawrence and the students of Lycée Robert Weinum

As part of International Women's Rights Day on March 8, the students of the Robert Weinum General and Technological High School carried out a meticulous research work honoring several famous women from Saint Martin. Singer Lydia Lawrence wanted to meet these young people.

Deeply moved by the students' initiative to highlight certain female figures on the island who have shone in the past and who, for others, continue to do so on a daily basis, the artist Lydia Lawrence, well known on the territory, met the teenagers for a morning of discussion and sharing. The Saint-Martin singer told the assembly made up of young girls and boys of her life experience, of her career as an artist sometimes strewn with pitfalls which have never discouraged her from her desire to live from his passion, namely singing, from his sharp sense of entrepreneurship and from his sincere and continuous commitment to the associative and cultural life of Saint Martin. Always in a generous approach specific to the singer, she did not fail to present compositions by her daughter, Estelle Lawrence, who chose to follow in her mother's footsteps by making her voice an instrument of artistic expression. Vocal skills are passed on from generation to generation. In the excitement of this exchange, several students thanked Lydia Lawrence in song, revealing many talents within the establishment.

This action was led by Marie-Odile Valsin, school social worker, and Hélèna Dormay (EMAS). _VX
