Territorial elections: A participation rate up by 3,2 points in the 1st round

18 Saint-Martinoises and Saint-Martinois* were invited to vote on Sunday for the first round of the territorial elections. 962 moved, 8738 spoke and 8382 abstained. The participation rate was 10%, up 230 points compared to 46.

The highest participation was recorded in offices 8 and 9 of the school complex covering the sectors from Friar's Bay to Savannah with rates of 53,2 and 49,3%. 1282 people voted in these two offices.

Participation was also high – more than 49% – in offices 13 (Spring Orléans-Oyster Pond) and 18 (Oriental Bay-West RN 7 Belle Plaine). 1007 people will vote there. These four offices represented a little more than a quarter of the voters.

Conversely, the lowest participation was observed in office 1 in downtown Marigot (35%) and office 17 (38,9%); office 17 being one of two offices in the Anse Marcel-Cul de Sac and Mont Vernon sector (the second office has a participation rate of 43,8%).
