0

On Tuesday, September 12, a unit composed of the Territorial Unit of the Direction of the Sea, the nautical brigade of the National Gendarmerie, and accompanied by an agent from the Saint-Martin Port Establishment (EPSM) carried out the control of around thirty vessels anchored in Simpson Lagoon.

This control is part of risk prevention during this hurricane period and verification of the administrative situation of ships present in the French part.

On this occasion, a letter from the Directorate of the Sea was left on each vessel in the absence of its owner, asking the latter to kindly present themselves at the premises of the Territorial Unit, located at the Administrative City of the State to Concordia before Friday, September 22, in particular to present their registration certificate. After this period, administrative action will be taken against the offenders. It is recalled on this occasion that each owner must be able to present proof of registration of their vessel and the various formalities to the authority vested with port police powers, under penalty of being ordered to leave. Further checks will be carried out in the coming weeks.
