0

The start of road repair work for the northern section (Approval phase at Oyster-Pond) will be given in Grand-Case, this Saturday, November 14, 2020, with site preparation work. The asphalt carpet will be laid during the day on Boulevard Bertin Maurice, on Monday November 16.

Also, road traffic will be interrupted on Boulevard Bertin-Maurice, between the bridge and the RN7 crossing, the days of November 14 and 16, between 7 a.m. and 16 p.m.

Once the asphalt has been laid, a second intervention will be necessary on Boulevard Bertin-Maurice, to finalize the upgrading of the network inspection structures.

The roadway repair work program adopted by the Collectivity:

From November 17 to 28, 2020: Period of 15 days of night work (21 p.m. to 06 a.m.)

• Rehabilitation of the RN7: various areas located between the Agrément roundabout and the Orléans district

• Rehabilitation of the Cul de Sac road

From November 30 to December 9, 2020: 15 day period of daytime work  (07 a.m. and 00 p.m.):

• Route de Grand-Case, between the bridge and Route de l'Esperance

• Road to Grand Caye

• Route of Hope

• Coralita route

• Road to Colombier

• Friar's Bay Road

• RN7, Belle-Plaine Orleans

December 9 and 10, 2020: Carrying out asphalt work at night (between 21:00 p.m. and 04:00 a.m.) on the RN7, from the junction of Boulevard de Grand-Case to Rue des Ecoles.

General method:

The perimeter concerned by these road works includes all the degraded road sections on the RN7 and the main secondary roads, located between the borders of Oyster-Pond - Belle Plaine and the Agrément roundabout.

The mesures that took place : 4 mandated work teams and 1 team of collectors' controllers will be mobilized, most often at the same time:

• 1 team for "mechanical" asphalt planing,

• 1 team for the "mechanical" implementation of asphalt,

• 1 team for planing and "manual" asphalt mixing,

• 1 team for repairing concrete pavements,

• 1 team of road inspectors.

For all interventions (night and day), alternating traffic will be set up, with suitable markings and road signs for the site.

During this work, which will take place over several weeks, the Community asks road users to be extremely careful and thanks them for their patience, while the alternating traffic phases may cause traffic slowdowns.

President Daniel Gibbs recalls that this phase of rehabilitation of the road network comes after 36 months of intensive work to bury the electricity and fiber networks.

These landfill works are not yet all completed, which does not prevent the start of the road renovation phase in certain sectors.

Note that a second phase of road repair will be launched in 2021 and will concern the southern sector (Agrément phase at Terres-Basses).
