Rediscovery: The Colombier equestrian center

0

When you enter Colombier, very quickly, on the right, you can see horses. These are the horses of Camille and her father, the owners for two years of the equestrian center.

Camille is 25 years old and has lived on the island for 9 years. She passed her BAC in Saint-Martin and wanted to study interior architecture. Chance or fate means that no school in France and Canada accepts Camille's file. Sad news but that obliges him to explore another track, his passion since always, the horse. She has lived in this world since she was 4 years old, 21 years of experience and passion. The refusals and the questioning coincided with the sale of the Colombier equestrian center by its former owner. The project seems crazy but Camille is sure of herself, she goes to metropolitan France to train and obtains her BPJEPS. Today, she therefore holds the diploma which allows her to supervise riders on a ride but also to prepare them for competition, her center is FFE approved and she also has the accreditation which allows her to provide training in assistant animator. And then, Camille and her father are full of projects. First, a part of their riders will represent Saint-Martin at the regional championships which are held in Guadeloupe, it is not the first time that they go there and they are used to the podium. However, this year, for the first time, they will travel to France in July for the French championships and it will be a first for Saint-Martin.

They will be 3 riders to compete but the team could have 3 more riders, and as many more chances to reach the podium, if they get a financial boost. Competition is expensive and talent is not enough to finance travel, hotel nights… The Saint-Martin team readily accepts financial support, in the form of a sponsor, for example. All the aids are good to take, it is not only a question of the pleasure of a few riders but of a means of making Saint-Martin shine nationally and beyond. The center, like the whole island, suffered greatly from the passage of Irma and all the savings went into rebuilding and bringing the horses to safety. While her father battled on the spot, with the employee of the center, to put the horses back in safety and the site on their feet, Camille worked in France to finance the food of the horses. Little by little, the riders came back but there are still around twenty entries missing so that the center can "roll" as before. And then, the equestrian center is also a place of meeting and reception.

Camille and her father like to see life there even if all the visitors are not riders. This is why they regularly organize entertainment in the center, the next party will take place on June 22 but if you like the site, you can also rent it for a particular event. What could be more adorable to please than a pony ride? Soon, if everything goes in the right direction, "the farmhouse" should see the light of day. Chickens, ducks, rabbits, goats ... Everything you need to fill the eyes of our toddlers with stars ... _NB
