Pointe à Pitre-Guadeloupe Pôle Caraïbes Airport welcomed 2.442.455 passengers last year, an increase in traffic of 3,43% compared to 2017.

The Société Aéroportuaire Guadeloupe Pôle Caraïbes recorded in 2018 the highest level of traffic ever handled by the platform. This growth in traffic in 2018 was mainly driven by the “France hexagonal” cluster, which recorded 9,4% growth, or 123.422 additional passengers. The increase can be explained in particular by the arrival in July 2018 of the low-cost airline Level, "which has boosted competition in this market". Another source of growth is the consequences of the cyclone episodes of 2017 which led to the postponement of part of the traffic to Guadeloupe. The “North America” cluster also contributed to this growth, recording growth of 12,9%, driven by the increase in supply as a result of the seasonal operations of Norwegian Air Shuttle.

Traffic departing from Europe, mainly driven by cruising, is clearly increasing with 22,1% of additional passengers, "which confirms the success of cruise based."

On the other hand, the “Fort de France / Cayenne” beam fell by 6,5%, still suffering the consequences of cyclonic episodes; the effects of the change in pricing policy on this axis “are now smoothed”. Towards the Northern Islands, opposite effects are noted: Saint-Martin is down 9,7%, still penalized by the consequences of the climatic events of 2017, while Saint-Barthélemy progressed by 14,2%, due to '' a more rapid resumption of tourist activities.
