Rain Forest Adventure and its Zipline: Faxinfo has tried for you!

0

We have tried for you an original attraction which recently opened its doors partly in Holland (…): the chairlift and the zip line or “zipline” of Mount “Sentry Hill”.

We parked our vehicle in the large Rain Forest Adventure parking lot by the road that goes to St-Peters, 600m after the Carrefour Market roundabout.

After taking our tickets we walked a hundred meters to reach the start of the brand new chairlift. Exactly like in a ski resort but without the snow. The very welcoming staff gave us some safety instructions and off we went to the summits!

The spectacle is fascinating, we very quickly dominate St-Peters, Saunders, Dutch Cul-de-Sac, Pointe-Blanche and Philipsburg and its bay which seem very small to us.

We take approximately 15 minutes to reach the summit of Sentry Hill on this 1km link. Up there, on the many wooden and steel platforms, a 360 ° panorama is offered to us and to our photos. West side, less windy, Cole Bay, Simpson bay, Juliana Airport, Terres-Basses, Nettle Bay, Sandy Ground are within reach of our amazed eyes. We pass by the refreshment bar before going down again. Two of us by chairlift and two others by the famous zipline, the longest in the Caribbean. Securely attached to our harness, we are released into the void suspended from an unbreakable steel cable. No feeling of fear, security is present. We feel the wind in our eyes because we are going at 90 km / h for almost a minute.

On arrival we are helped to leave our harness and we are waiting for our friends who are still far away on the chairlift. In summary, a good moment of escape that feels good.

After a visit to the souvenir shop for photos of our exploits, we have lunch at Emilio's, the on-site restaurant housed in an old Saint-Martin building superbly renovated. Friendly. Resident rates: chairlift only round trip to the top $ 30, chairlift + zipline descent $ 54. _AH
