Just a quarter of the 20 people registered on the electoral lists in Saint-Martin moved on Saturday during the first round of the presidential election. The community thus holds the record for the highest rate of abstention overseas: 153%. Even in Guyana where the population had demonstrated for several weeks against the lack of means granted by the State, the participation is more important by nine points with a rate of 73,66%.
Saint-Martin also holds the national abstention record. It is far, far ahead of Corsica which is the region in mainland where we voted the least (31% of non-voters). (More details on www.soualigapost.com)
