Territorial Police: Creation of a local brigade for a greater presence on the ground

0

As part of the strengthening and reorganization of the territorial police, the Collectivity of Saint-Martin has created a local brigade.

Under the direction of Jacqueline Rodriguez, head of the territorial police, the brigade is led by Hubert Page, territorial policeman. It is made up of 4 agents from the Urban Supervision Center (CSU) and an ASVP agent, redeployed on these new missions.

The objective of the local brigade is to guarantee a field presence, in regular contact with the inhabitants, traders and visitors of the island. According to Daniel Gibbs, "the local brigade can improve the prevention of crime and further facilitate the intervention of the police force, with which it will report any abnormal situation observed in public space".

On a day-to-day basis, the officers will be responsible in particular for securing the entrances and exits of certain schools and carrying out pedestrian patrols in the streets of Saint-Martin, in particular Marigot. They will also carry out environmental police and noise pollution missions.
