0

Last Tuesday, around 12 noon, Border Police officers checked a catamaran at anchor in Marigot Bay.

A paid intervention by the French authorities since 52 illegal immigrants including seven children were discovered on board the boat. Note that all the people present on the boat are of Haitian nationality.

In the process, the police arrested and placed the three crew members in police custody, suspected of smuggling migrants.

Pending a court decision, the fifty-two people in an irregular situation have been placed in an administrative detention facility in Saint-Martin. _AF
