Hurricane Irma / Maria: The UGPBAN collects 300 tonnes of goods for Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy!

The call for solidarity from the UGPBAN-Fruidor group after the passage of Hurricanes Irma and Maria paid off.

After three weeks, the Union of Banana Producers Groups of Guadeloupe and Martinique (UGPBAN) and its “Fruidor” network harvested 300 tonnes of products from the 15 sites made available for this operation. This initiative was first supported by the long-standing partner of the French banana industry, CMA CGM, the world leader in container shipping. It will then be reinforced by 8 other organizations and associations (Maison de Saint-Martin, at the origin of an additional collection on the hexagon, International Paper, world leader in paper and packaging, Dunfresh, logistics specialist port, the Port of Dunkirk and the dockers of Dunkirk, the Food Bank, Secours Populaire, Olivier Chaput, children's favorite chef (collection dedicated to children).

All of the goods, dispatched in 15 containers, were loaded bound for the Northern Islands. _AF
