As part of the development of sport, the USEP of the Northern Islands, in partnership with the Department of Education and the Saint Martin Football League launched, last October, the operation "football at school ”in the various elementary schools on the island.

Always invested in this approach, the Saint-Martin Football League, with the support of the USEP, wished to emphasize this action by organizing, last Friday, at the Jean-Louis Vanterpool stadium, a new festive event bringing together some 200 students!

Six schools participated in this awareness campaign based on three important axes: fair play, surpassing oneself (note: it is a vector of improvement and progression for the individual, of evolution for the society) and also, the practice of football for all.

Popular sport, in the full sense of the term, football indeed offers children concrete access to universalism. It is an effective instrument in the fight against all forms of discrimination and is fully in line with the aim of the school of the Republic by promoting diversity and equality!

The organizers of the operation “Le Foot à l'école” would like to thank the CM1 / CM2 classes of the schools Aline HANSON, Elie GIBS, Emile LARMONY, Omer ARRONDELL, Marie AMELIE LEYDET, Hervé WILLIAMS, Nina DUVERLY and Emile CHOISY, the volunteer referees, MM. Morville and Richards as well as Jean-Luc Elice, president of the USEP of the Northern Islands, without forgetting “Super U”, partner of the event. _AF
