Migratory birds: The association Les Fruits de Mer organizes its 7th annual Festival

0

BirdsCaribbean is an international network of members and partners committed to the conservation of Caribbean birds and their habitats. For 30 years, this non-profit association, created in 1993, has sensitized its local partners, of which the association Les Fruits de Mer de Saint-Martin is part, to the creation of a region in which the populations appreciate, preserve and take advantage of bird populations and ecosystems.

In Saint-Martin, the 7th annual Migratory Bird Festival will take place on Saturday November 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the premises of the Amuseum Naturalis in Quartier d'Orléans. This completely free festival tells the story of these migratory birds with, in particular, exhibitions, discovery stations and artistic activities. People of all ages can get to know these birds and understand why Saint Martin is so important to these migratory birds.

For this year, the theme for World Migratory Bird Day is "Protecting Birds: Be the Solution to Plastic Pollution," which is a global problem and a big threat to birds. These often confuse floating plastics with food and their ingestion can kill hungry birds by filling their stomachs.

Residents and visitors of all ages are invited to the annual Festival of Migratory Birds organized, as every year, by the association Les Fruits de Mer at the Amuseum Naturalis. On the other hand, to volunteer or be a sponsor of Fruits de Mer, it is possible to contact the association through the site http://www.lesfruitsdemer.com/events/migratory-bird-festival/, or by email to info@lesfruitsdemer.com. _RM
