Alexandre Rochatte, Controller General of the Armies, is the new Prefect of Guadeloupe and State Representative in Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin. His appointment was confirmed during the Council of Ministers the day before yesterday.

The information was confirmed last Wednesday with the publication of the decisions taken during the Council of Ministers: Alexandre Rochatte, prefect of the Meuse since January 2019, has been appointed prefect of Guadeloupe, representative of the State in the communities of Saint- Barthélemy and Saint-Martin. He thus succeeds Philippe Gustin, promoted to chief of staff of the Minister of Overseas France, Sébastien Lecornu. He is expected to take up his new duties in early August.

Alexandre Rochatte, 51, Comptroller General of the Armed Forces, graduated from the Saint-Cyr military school. He began his career in the army as head of operational units of the army, at the Ministry of Defense from 1994 to 2001, then as controller general of the armed forces.

He also holds an MBA (Master in Business Administration) from ESSEC (Higher School of Economic and Commercial Sciences).

Overseas is not completely unknown to him, since in 2009, Alexandre Rochatte joined the ministry as deputy director in charge of the service of evaluation, forecasting and State expenditure. . Then, in 2010, he took on the post of Secretary General of the High Commission of the Republic in French Polynesia.

In 2012, he was appointed Deputy Director of Finance and Steering, within the Directorate General of the National Police (DGPN).

In 2015, he became head of department, deputy to the interministerial delegate for road safety.

Since January 2019, he was prefect of the Meuse.
