The festival of the sea celebrates its tenth anniversary. It takes place in principle on the last weekend in May, but this year, due to the holding of the European elections on May 25, it is postponed by one week, ie June 1 and 2.
Organized by the Metimer association in Grand Case, the event aims to introduce the population to the world of the sea and nautical activities at reduced prices. For two days, it is possible to paddle, kayak, sea scooter, catamaran trip, etc., from one euro, the highest price being 12 euros. The activities are open to children and adults.
To mark the tenth anniversary, Metimer wanted to share the sea with even more young people. In continuation of the Sea Discovery day which consists of taking children to Tintamare for a day, the association wishes to welcome students from Sandy Ground and Quartier d'Orléans, distant from Grand Case and who do not have the opportunity to move. Métimer is in the process of concluding agreements so that these students are accompanied by their teachers, and come to participate free of charge in non-motorized nautical activities on Saturdays between 9 am and noon.
