The very dynamic association “Les Fruits de Mer” has just published a coloring book, “Insectes Autour de Moi”. A new book presenting 40 insects that can be discovered on the island. An immersion in nature, where children can record their own observations and make their drawings of insects.

"It's never too early to discover the incredible fauna of Saint-Martin", underlines the author Mark Yokoyama. “Some of our most common insects are those that live only here on this island, and nowhere else in the world. We have created this book to introduce  these wonderful insects and their stories with the youngest children. »

The book also highlights birds, insects, reptiles and more. For each species there is an illustrated coloring page with a brief description of the insect.

A visual guide with color photos of each animal is available on the back cover  These characteristics encourage children to observe these insects in the wild.

“The book has been published in English and French,” adds Jenn Yerkes, President of the “Les Fruits de Mer” association. “We wanted this book to be more versatile on this multilingual island. This also means that the book can also be a language learning tool. »
