Franceline Lalanne, 28, a native of Saint-Martin, died on Monday, November 7, in the fire in the studio she occupied at Grande rue Général-de-Gaulle, in Nogent-sur-Marne. According to the mayor, Jacques JP Martin, "she was trying to rescue children".

The fire started on the ground floor of the building before advancing in the stairwell leading to the upper floors. Responding very quickly, the firefighters managed to contain the fire at the end of the morning, around 11:30 am. Unfortunately, during their intervention, the body of Franceline Lalanne, was found. The victim is said to have died as a result of the smoke from the fire.

According to the first elements of the investigation, it would seem that the young woman died while trying to rescue children.

Franceline Lalanne had lived in the Paris region for a decade or so. She was a saleswoman in a ready-to-wear store. Her parents, Franckel and Julia Lalanne, flew to Paris last Thursday, accompanied by two close friends. _AF
