Many people appreciate the vegetation at the moment, commenting that "the island is green". It has indeed escaped no one that the showers are frequent and some relatively intense. But is it raining more than normal?

According to Météo France readings, no, it is not raining more than normal, the precipitation rate is in line with the season. In October and August, the amounts of rain recorded correspond to the averages: respectively 85,4 and 155,8 mm of rain fell for normal values of 86 and 158,4 mm.

In July, however, it rained twice as much as normal, 142,1 mm. And in September, it's the other way around: 60 mm while the norms are 106,9 mm.

During the first fifteen days of November, the precipitation rate is 91,3 mm. The average rate for this month is 152,7 mm.

For the coming months, Météo France reports that the seasonal forecast models predict an accentuation of the La-Nina phenomenon in the Pacific with rainfall close to normal in the West Indies but slightly higher in Guyana. “The rainy season is over and the transition phase to the dry season will set in. Rainfall will therefore decline and should be close to seasonal norms. However, in the event of a disturbed situation, as is often the case in November, the rains could occasionally be very marked, due to the ascents. Consequently, the rainfall trend for the next 3 months could be slightly in excess (more likely towards Guadeloupe), if not close to seasonal norms. Temperatures, for their part, should not exceed normal too much (more the minimum than the maximum) ”, indicates Météo France. (soualigapost.com)
