Since last Tuesday, Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy are on yellow alert for “Dangerous sea at the coast” due to an “unusual swell from the northwest, generated by low pressures on the North Atlantic” which “ affects the north of the Lesser Antilles ”, according to Météo France. Average troughs have been estimated at 2m to 2m towards the Atlantic. Breaks are to be expected in areas usually protected.
