WEATHER: Precipitation still below normal

Since the beginning of the year, it has rained little in Saint-Martin. If a low rainfall from January to April was normal since it was the dry season known as the Lent period, the precipitation fell in Saint-Martin was still below normal, with a 112,9 mm of rain fell over 30 days in January and April. And this deficit trend continued in May and June.

In May it rained 27,4 mm; the average monthly total recorded by Météo France between 1981 and 2010 for this month is 104,6 mm. The lowest rainfall in May was recorded in 1985 with an accumulation of only 13,2 mm.

In June, it rained 21,9 mm; the normal ones being 55,9 mm.

Since the beginning of the year, 162,2 mm of rain have fallen in Saint-Martin.

For comparison in 2018, precipitation was 20,1 mm in May and 25,8 mm in June. They had become more important from August. (source: soualigapost.com)
