Associations: how are the COM grants distributed? (end)


41 sports associations, 10 more than last year, obtained financial aid for a total amount of 380 euros.

The largest subsidies are granted to the volleyball league (40 euros), the Avenir sportif club (000 euros), the football league (29 euros) and the Bodybuilding and Fitness association of Saint Martin (000 euros). These four structures account for a third of the aid intended for sports associations.

The volleyball league and the Avenir sportif club have always received substantial subsidies: between 45 euros in 000 and 2014 euros in 65 for the first and between 000 euros in 2017 and 30 euros in 000 for the second. However, they each benefit from 2014 euros less compared to 37, or even 000 euros.  less for the volleyball league compared to 2017.

On the other hand, Bodybuilding and Fitness association of Saint-Martin saw its subsidies increase, going from 5 euros in 000, to 2014 euros in 9 and 000 then to 2016 euros in 2017 and 20 euros this year.

The aid granted to the football league, which had reached 57 and 000 euros in 60 and 000, has halved this year; in 2016, it was 2017 euros. At the same time, subsidies are granted to certain clubs (Juniors Stars, Concordia Football club).

Another association that has seen its subsidies reduced by more than half in the last two years, the tennis club, going from 30 euros in 000-2016 to 2017 euros in 12-000.

The cycling committee receives this year 20 euros, which is the same as in 000. However in 2016 and 2017, it received 2018 and 50 euros.

Finally, the Carib swim team (Cole Bay swimming club which includes a French section) receives for the first time this year a subsidy of 10 euros.

For information, the amounts of subsidies cited in the article were granted by the executive council in May 2014,  April 2016, February 2017, June 2018 and June 2019.
