The Minister of Health, Agnès Buzyn, signed a decree last week listing “all drugs containing codeine, dextromethorphan, ethylmorphine or noscapine on the list of drugs available on prescription”. The minister thus wishes “to put an end to dangerous addictive practices”. The French Observatory for Drugs and Drug Addiction (OFDT) also mentions this problem in its latest note entitled “The misuse of drugs coded by young people”. “Spotted for the first time in 2013, suspicious requests for the issuance of codeines, cases of abuse or even dependence among adolescents and young adults (…) continued to be the subject of reports (…) with an increase in cases from 2015 ”, specifies the observatory. _EH
