In view of the risks of the spread of the Coronavirus worldwide and the health measures that are the responsibility of the State, the Collectivity of Saint-Martin assembled a crisis cell this Sunday, March 1, around President Daniel GIBBS, to set up preventive measures within the Collectivity, schools and dining halls, starting Monday, March 2.

The Collectivity of Saint-Martin and its Caisse Territoriale des Œuvres Scolaires (CTOS) have taken the following measures, in conjunction with the vice-rector Michel Sanz, for students and staff based in Saint-Martin establishments.

From Monday, hydroalcoholic lotions will be made available in schools and in school restaurants at the behest of principals and school heads, so that students and staff can wash and disinfect their hands regularly, as recommended by the 'Regional Health Agency (ARS). The nursery school pupils will be accompanied by the personnel of the national education and the Collectivity who will be responsible for verifying these elementary gestures of hygiene. Beyond the measures taken by the Collectivity, it is up to each of us to take the necessary precautions, in particular by giving children the means to disinfect their hands individually.

The Collectivity of Saint-Martin will also install hydroalcoholic solutions in its public reception areas. It is recalled that health prevention measures are also taken according to very specific protocols established with the State services, at the port of Galisbay and at the airport of Grand Case.

If for the moment the Regional Health Agency has confirmed three cases in Saint-Barthélemy (two of whom are confined to the hospital in Saint-Martin), it is advisable to remain pragmatic and rational and to take all the necessary precautions and respect the preventive measures as formulated by the Regional Health Agency (wash your hands regularly, avoid braces and shake hands, sneeze in your elbow, use disposable tissues, knowing that wearing a mask in the absence of disease is not useful).

Everyone's responsibility is engaged, we call on the population to remain attentive to the official information transmitted by the Regional Health Agency.
