On March 23, 2020, the Prime Minister announced reinforced measures to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus and save lives.
Travel is strictly prohibited until March 31, 2020. Including in Saint-Martin!
Certain exceptions are authorized only on condition that you have a personal derogatory certificate and proof of professional travel if necessary. These documents can be downloaded in French and English on the Facebook page or on the Prefecture website.
The only authorized exits are:

- Make essential purchases in local shops authorized to remain open;
- Go to a doctor if consultation and care cannot be done remotely;
- Travel for a compelling family reason for childcare or to help vulnerable people with the strict condition of respecting barrier gestures
- Go out within the limit of one hour per day and within a radius of 1 kilometer around your home for a walk or take out pets;

- Participate in a general interest mission at the request of the Prefecture.
Markets are prohibited
Take-out food stores and restaurants remain open. In Saint-Martin, shops close at 18 p.m. by prefectural order. Open or covered markets are prohibited.
To date, construction and public works companies are authorized to continue work in order to anticipate the hurricane season and its vagaries.
All gatherings are prohibited
Places of worship can remain open. All meetings within them are prohibited with the exception of funeral ceremonies in the presence of only a few relatives. No vigil or gathering should be held before or after the ceremony.
