The Collectivity of Saint-Martin informs all professionals that the collection of household refuse, bulky and green waste, has resumed its initial operation. Traders are invited to no longer leave boxes and bulky items on the sidewalks, but to evacuate them to public landfills as usual. The 11 temporary garbage and bulky disposal sites opened just after Hurricane IRMA for emergency storage of debris are permanently closed. These sites will be cleaned and rehabilitated in the coming weeks.
It is now imperative that professionals transport their waste and bulky items themselves to the Galisbay recycling center or to the Grandes Cayes ecosite, as they used to do before the passage of IRMA. To help them dispose of as much waste as possible, the removal of these bulky items will be free at the recycling center and at the ecosite, until Tuesday, October 31, 2017.
The community of Saint-Martin invites professionals to demonstrate good citizenship and to rigorously follow these cleaning instructions in the public domain, and thanks them for their contribution. _AF
